IRL
You look composed on the outside. Inside, you are tired in a way that rest does not seem to fix.
You are still delivering. Still showing up. Still the person everyone relies on. Yet, the effort it takes is increasing. Meanwhile, your energy is thinner than it used to be, and somewhere along the way the work stopped feeling like yours.
This is not a character flaw, and it is not something you address by trying harder. It is what happens when capable people manage everything except what their own emotions are quietly telling them.
A Different Approach
Most advice tells you to push through, think positive, and/or control your feelings. That is exactly backwards.

Your emotions are not the problem. They are data. They carry information about where your energy is leaking, what is draining you, and what actually moves you forward. When you learn to read that data, you stop running on willpower and start moving with clarity.
This work is built on Emotion Science, not self help slogans, and it is designed for people who do not have time to fall apart.
Why Me?

I am Dr. Marilyn Simmons. I hold a PhD in the quantitative study of emotions and achievement, with graduate training in biomedical science, neuroanatomy, and neurophysiology. For more than two decades I have studied how emotions shape the way we think, decide, and perform. I have built a research-based framework that maps 96 emotional dispositions across how we think, feel, act, and follow through.

Growing up in The Bahamas, I learned early that circumstances do not always determine outcomes. Raised in a small shack without electricity or running water, I often studied by reading on a church porch at night. Despite limited resources, I skipped fourth grade and tenth grade, and graduated from high school at age fifteen. This started my post secondary academic journey.

I also know sustainable performance from the inside. I have run every day since January 1st, 2012. That's enough miles to traverse the Equator 1.5 times. I have run more than 200 marathons over the past 30 years. You do not finish 200 marathons by pushing harder. You finish them by learning to work with your body and your mind instead of against them. That is the same principle I bring to this work.

My work is grounded in science and lived experience, not guesswork.
How It Works
We keep it simple and low pressure.

We start with a free 20-minute conversation. No assessment, no commitment, just a chance to talk through what is draining you and whether this is a fit.

If it is, we map what your emotions are doing using a clear, evidence-based profile, then build a short, personalized plan you can actually sustain. One small shift at a time. We keep what works and drop what does not.

You will not leave with a binder that you never open. You will leave with clarity that you can feel.
What Clients Commonly Tell Us
These reflections represent themes clients have consistently reported after working with Emotionology Life across a variety of personal, professional, relationship, and organizational experiences.

Assessment
Participants
Clients frequently report being surprised by how accurately the assessment reflects their experiences, often describing the profile as feeling as though it "read their mind." The report helped them better understand how their emotions influence their thinking, motivation, and daily decisions.

Workshop & Presentation Attendees
Educators and organizational leaders have shared that the data presentations helped them see themselves and their teams in a new way. Rather than presenting statistics alone, the findings were translated into meaningful insights that sparked discussion, reflection, and practical application.

Couples
Couples often reported that seeing both their individual profiles and relationship comparisons provided a shared language for conversations that had previously led to frustration or misunderstanding. The data created a foundation for more productive dialogue both during and between sessions.

Individual
Coaching Clients
Individual coaching clients frequently shared that the combination of the assessment, onboarding process, and customized action plan helped them identify specific areas for growth and provided clear, practical steps for moving forward.
Begin Your Journey
If you are tired of performing strength just to get through the day, there is a clearer way forward, and you do not have to figure it out alone.
